NORTEC has over 30 years of experience in providing recruitment and training services for jobseekers and businesses. With offices throughout Northern NSW and South East Queensland, we are a for-purpose community-based organisation that aims to create opportunities and inspire better futures for our unique regional communities by listening to understand and seeking real solutions. We provide integrated services that connect people, business and communities.
NORTEC deliver a comprehensive range of recruitment, small business advisory support and training services for businesses and jobseekers, including the Australian Government funded jobactive intiative and the Disability Employment Services programs (both no-fee recruitment services); as well as commercial recruitment services for temporary, permanent and contract staffing - we are an approved contractor for Local Government Procurement in our region.
As a Registered Training Organisation, NORTEC can assist jobseekers with accredited and non-accredited training programs and assist businesses with traineeship delivery for their staff. For information on our available courses click here.
Investing in social enterprise initiatives, NORTEC deliver a range of complementary programs and engage in activities that make a positive socio-economic difference in our region. These activities include small business advisory, mentoring and incubation support, investment in social enterprise initiatives that encourage skills and employment growth, community sponsorships and grants initiatives. Our offices in Northern NSW are located in Forster, Wauchope, Port Macquarie, Kempsey, Macksville, Coffs Harbour, Grafton, Yamba, Casino, Kyogle, Lismore, Ballina, Byron Bay, Brunswick Heads, Pottsville, Murwillumbah and Tweed Heads. NORTEC also have offices in South East Queensland including Coomera, Southport, Nerang and Palm Beach on the Gold Coast and Booval and Redbank Plains in the Ipswich region.
NORTEC were recently successful in the new Australian Government funded Job Active program and by July 1, 2015 we will be opening offices in these new regions: NSW Mid North Coast: Bulahdelah, Forster, Gloucester, Laurieton, Wauchope, Port Macquarie, Kempsey, Macksville; and in South East Queensland: Robina, Bigera Waters, Inala and Indoroopilly. We look forward to extending our services in these areas from July 1st.
NORTEC Small Business Support Unit were recently awarded the contract delivery for the Federal Government-funded Australian Small Business Advisory Services program (ASBAS) in the following areas: Clarence Valley, Kyogle, Richmond Valley, Lismore, Ballina, Byron, Tweed and the Gold Coast. The program provides small businesses with advisory support and workshops as well as matching businesses with a suitable expert business mentor. For more information on the program click here.

NORTEC will be Reaching More People!
The Job Active program, which replaces the current Job Services Australia program from 1 July this year, is a highly sought-after 5 year contract and attracted interest from hundreds of Australian and international organisations.
When officially released in late March, management and staff at NORTEC were elated with the news that they had won four employment regions, retaining a large part of their existing regional footprint (from Coffs Harbour to Tweed Heads) and expanding further south to Bulahdelah near Newcastle and north to the Gold Coast and west Brisbane /Ipswich regions, effectively doubling their service footprint.
NORTEC has also had some successes in its Small Business Support division, recently winning the tender for the Australian Government funded Australian Small Business Support (ASBAS) program, a small business advisory and mentorship program. This win was further enhanced with the recent announcement that its bid for the New Enterprise Incentive Scheme (NEIS) (a training and support program for jobseekers with a unique business idea) was successful in the Port Macquarie, Northern Rivers, New England and Gold Coast regions.
Paul Bennett, CEO of NORTEC said that he was not only proud of the work that the team at NORTEC had delivered during the lengthy tender process, but proud of the validation that this success means for the organisation.
