Above Award Range Salaries

Employees working at NORTEC receive an attractive salary package that is above award rates. Employees are paid fortnightly into a nominated bank account.

Superannuation

Employees are paid nine (9) percent of their base annual salary of superannuation into a nominated fund. NORTEC also offers employees the chance to nominate that their superannuation funds be deposited in the companies default fund, Recruitment Super. Recruitment Super is an industry fund that gives employees a choice of fund management options.

Salary Sacrificing and Packaging

NORTEC Employment and Training is a not-for-profit organisation that currently enjoys Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) status with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). As a result of this NORTEC is able to offer attractive salary packaging to its employees. Salary packaging enables staff to allocate a portion of their pre-tax income to pay for approved expenses. This reduces the amount of tax you pay and increases the amount of take home pay each fortnight.

Salary sacrificing is available to all full and part time employees. Employees are able to package up to $16,049 per annum of their gross salary annually.  The amount is tax free and equates to $617.29 per fortnight.        

Flexible Working Conditions

NORTEC is acutely aware of the increased importance of work life balance to its employees and one way it helps to achieve this is by offering access to flexible working arrangements. A number of different working schedules including four day work weeks and 9 day fortnights are offered to employees dependent on operational and job requirements.

Staff Wellness Program

NORTEC acknowledges that its’ employees are a vital resource and their health and wellbeing is linked directly to the quality of service delivery and the overall performance of the organisation. Therefore, upon successful completion of 90 days service, NORTEC offers all employees’ monies to use on approved wellness services which may include massages, gym memberships and counselling / debriefing services.

Training and Development

NORTEC Employment and Training Ltd offers a number of learning and development opportunities to staff in a continued effort to enhance their job skills and service delivery. Training and development opportunities, aimed at increasing skills, knowledge and expertise, include in house training courses, attendance at conference/seminars and participation in completion of vocational certifications.
