'Get on Board' NORTEC's Mobile Training Classrooms

Funded by the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) program - Investing in Community Education and Training - NORTEC is now able to bring classrooms to our students from Nambucca to Tweed through mobile training units.

This exciting initiative consists of mobile classrooms, buses and equipment trailers that can travel to regional areas where jobseekers or students may be disadvantaged by lack of transport or training options.

The 'Get on Board' mobile training units was officially launched in Lismore on the 26th July 2010 by a representative of Janelle Saffin Minister for Page, Richard Armstrong, and the Mayor of Lismore Jenny Dowell. The mobile training units will deliver a range of accredited and non-accredited courses, including hospitality, horticulture, business & administration and more.

The mobile training units are currently delivering a hospitality course in Nambucca and a horticulture course in Wiangaree, near Kyogle, as part of a Bush Tucker Project in conjunction with the LALC.

      Return on Investment

Providing training to your staff should not be seen as merely time away from work. Several studies show that time spent in training repays an organisation in improved productivity, enhanced morale and improved staff retention. The training.com.au website provides a ROI calculator that estimates the potential return on your training investment.

The National Council for Vocational Education Research has published a number of studies relating to return on training investment.
