Connecting volunteers with the community

If you are interested in becoming a business sponsor of NORTEC Volunteering, your sponsorship Rob dollars contribute to a broad sector of the community - volunteers, not-for-profit organisations in our shire and the community members who utilise the services these organisations provide. Donations are 100% tax deductible. Through sponsorship of NORTEC Volunteering, your business is supporting the organisation who supports the organisations who support your community!

When you become a sponsor, your business benefits through extra marketing attached to the promotion of NORTEC Volunteering and your logo is prominently displayed in a number of marketing activities such as flyers, media community announcements, networking events, festivals and advertising.

NORTEC Volunteering is proudly supported by our local media - the Tweed region’s tabloid newspaper, the Daily News and Gold FM radio.

Since it’s inception in 2001, NORTEC Volunteering, through its pool of eager volunteers, has provided over 67,000 volunteer hours to over 130 local charities and community-based organisations.

NORTEC Volunteering acts as a single agency for both those members of the community who are looking to give their time to local organisations and those community organisations who rely upon and are looking for volunteers to support them in the delivery of their services.

David a volunteerOur staff interview potential volunteers to determine a skills match to the requirements of the volunteer vacancies as well as covering their insurance on behalf of the community organisation. NORTEC Volunteering staff also provide advice and training to its host/client organisations in the management of volunteers.

Until this time, NORTEC Volunteering has been jointly funded by the Australian Government ‘Volunteer Work Initiative’ and NORTEC Employment and Training, with in-kind support (rent-free premises) from the Tweed Shire Council.

Australian Government funding is not guaranteed into the future, and, in order to assure the valuable services of NORTEC Volunteering beyond June 2007, we are seeking sponsorship from businesses who recognise the immeasurable value volunteers provide to the community.

AlisonWith support from businesses within the community, NORTEC Volunteering will be able to maintain and even expand its service delivery.
