Youth Services

Since 1979, NORTEC have been proactive in developing and promoting youth opportunities in the northern regions of NSW.

NORTEC Youth Services deliver two youth programs in Northern NSW – the Links to Learning program (funded by the NSW Department of Education and Training), and Youth Connections (funded by the Australian Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations).

Happy-Young-peopleYouth Connections

Youth Connections is a program that aims to provide support to young people who are at-risk of disengaging or have already disengaged from education due to difficult circumstances. The program offers the students support and counselling, referral to other services, along with career guidance and direction - it aims to break down and alleviate the barriers that are preventing students from making the best choices for their future.

Links to Learning

Links to Learning is a Tweed region based program for 15-24 year olds who have already left school. The program runs for 9 weeks, 25hrs per week and combines creative activities such as music, art, multimedia and film-making with practical life skills (self defence and staying safe programs), along career guidance and advice.
